Originally established over 39 years ago as a mainstream recruitment company, IPA has transformed its approach, becoming a certified social enterprise and redirecting earnings from staffing solutions to support genU—a profit-for-purpose organisation building inclusive communities.

To further its impact, IPA joined Social Traders Grow membership enabling IPA to connect with new clients who share their commitment to social responsibility and access exclusive events and networking opportunities. This has led to IPA playing a more active role in the broader movement toward socially conscious business practices.

Community-centric evolution: IPA's transition to a social enterprise

IPA evolved from a traditional recruitment agency to a social enterprise as a commitment to achieve community outcomes. Today, clients seek IPA not only for their recruitment expertise but also for the assurance that their investments contribute to positive change through genU.

100% of IPA’s profit goes to support services for people living with disability and to build inclusive communities. By redirecting earnings from staffing solutions, IPA has helped genU reinvest a substantial $17.6 million into the community in 2022 alone. This funding has touched the lives of 67,000 individuals through various channels, including employment opportunities for 23,000 job seekers, 1.2 million hours of disability services, and direct employment for 200 people with disabilities.

Tailoring success: IPA's personalised approach to placing candidates

Since 2006, IPA has been a reliable partner in Australia Post's labour hire solutions, fulfilling close to 4000 roles across 75 locations.

Not conforming to a one-size-fits-all approach, IPA ensures that each placement is uniquely tailored, driven by the specific needs and aspirations of both clients and individuals.

“IPA’s philosophy to placing individuals is simple, we never have a cookie cutter approach. Our actions are driven by clients and individuals. Each individual is different, and we support each individual”- James Muskett, Head of Sales, IPA Personnel

Candidates undergo training and interview support as well as quarterly wellbeing surveys, providing IPA with a comprehensive understanding of their overall job security and financial stability. Every month a dedicated social impact team gathers insights from candidates about how IPA has helped change their lives. Results show that:

  • More than 90% of surveyed IPA placements say IPA positively impact their ability to stay employed
  • More than 80% of surveyed temporary employees would choose to continue at their IPA job placement
  • More than 70% of IPA clients are rated 4+ out of 5 for safety and inclusion by IPA temporary and permanent placements
  • More than 65% of surveyed jobseekers placed by IPA are managing their work situations better since joining IPA

IPA has not only redefined its business model but has also challenged the norms of the recruitment industry. By embracing a socially conscious approach, IPA is not just connecting job seekers with employers; they are supporting genU in creating stronger, more inclusive communities. In the world of IPA, recruitment isn't just about finding the right fit for a job; it's about creating a positive ripple effect that extends far beyond the office doors.

"If your business uses recruitment, why not choose a social enterprise that contributes 100 percent of its profits to the community?"- James Muskett, Head of Sales, IPA Personnel
