Partnership to accelerate social enterprise growth

Mirvac, one of Australia’s leading diversified property groups, partnered with Social Traders on the Supplier Development Program with a shared goal – to make social procurement business as usual. This innovative collaboration leverages the strengths of both organisations to create transformative impact to on social procurement practices. We encourage other organisations to support the growth of the sector for mutually beneficial outcomes.

FY2024 program participants

Four certified social enterprises participated in the program. They were CommUnity Construction, Green Connect, Reground and YMCA Rebuild.

Developing social enterprises

The program included tailored advisory sessions, mentor sessions, promotion, and account management with the aim of developing the social procurement capability among certified social enterprises.

A program logic and evaluation framework to track the outcomes and impact of the program was also developed.

Program highlights include:

  • Mirvac's social procurement maturity increased;
  • largest growth in procurement readiness among certified social enterprises; and
  • the number of certified social enterprises in Mirvac’s supply chain increased.
